The Teatro Apolo in Almería hosts this Saturday, October 24, the show 'A través del desierto', a stage proposal created and performed by Mayte Beltrán and Kasia Ozog. The piece starts from the Tabernas desert and the light that fascinated the writer Aldous Huxley on his visit in 1929, as detailed by the Area of Culture of the City Council.

Tickets and price

Tickets are already on sale on the Area of Culture platform, the tickets website, and at the municipal box office of the Teatro Apolo. They cost 15 euros in advance and 18 euros on the day of the performance.

What the production proposes

The show is presented as a journey through the desert understood as a space of transformation, search and inner discovery. Through movement, choreography and a visual and sound dimension, the two creators explore the desert as a territory apparently empty and inhospitable, but capable of harbouring "hidden oases and unexpected possibilities", as they explain in the presentation. The piece is born from the encounter between two creators with different aesthetics and expressive languages, who converge in a common stage language. The proposal is part of the autumn programme of the Area of Culture, Education, Museums and Traditions of the Almería City Council.

Who is behind it

Kasia Ozog signs the original idea, the creation, the choreography and the performance, and Mayte Beltrán participates in the creation, the choreography and the performance. The musical production is by Juan Manuel Cidrón and Yessi Yacobi, with the special collaboration of Paco Cañizares and Rocío Zamora. In the technical section, Yessi Yacobi is in charge of sound; Fernando Cabeo, of lighting; Piotr Słodkowicz, of the projections; and Raxiid Studio of the recording of the projections. Paco Cañizares signs the costumes, Bogdam the photography and Daniel Ortega the poster design.
