The Vera Municipal Library "Ezequiel Navarrete Garres" has organised a week of activities on the occasion of International Library Day, which is commemorated on October 24. The programme, promoted by the Department of Culture, runs from October 19 to 30 and includes proposals for schoolchildren and for families.
A "Secret Book" and the library blog
From October 19 to 24, anyone who comes to the library can ask for their "Secret Book", a surprise loan whose content is not known until it is opened. In addition, opinions about the reading can be left on the library blog, at blog.vera.es/biblioteca, where a virtual literary discussion about "La llamada del Coloso" between Gabriel Padilla and Yago is also proposed.
Storytelling for the youngest
On Saturday, October 24, at 12:00, the Saturday Story Hour is held, a children's storytelling session aimed at children aged 3 to 6. To take part, you must register by calling 619 508 510, a number where information about the activity is also provided.
Schools and cinema with artificial intelligence
During the week of October 19 to 23, the municipality's schools make visits to the library. Then, in the week of October 26 to 30, the schools "El Palmeral" and "Alyanub" will attend the presentation of the artificial intelligence film "El Caballero del Santo Reino" at the Cine Teatro Regio.
How to take part
For the storytelling session on Saturday, October 24, you must register in advance at 619 508 510. The "Secret Book" can be requested at the library from October 19 to 24, and opinions and the literary discussion are published at blog.vera.es/biblioteca. The school visits and the screening at the Cine Teatro Regio are aimed at the participating schools.
The activity is organised by the Department of Culture of the Vera Town Council together with the Municipal Library.
