La Noche en Negro is once again leaving the centre of Almería. The traders' associations of El Zapillo, San Vicente and Cabo de Gata have organised their own activities for this edition, as detailed by the Ayuntamiento, which promotes the event through the Área de Comercio with the collaboration of the Junta de Andalucía, the Diputación Provincial, Almería Centro, Ashal, Asoal and the Centro Andaluz de Fotografía.

El Zapillo opens on Thursday

El Zapillo holds its activities on Thursday, October 29 from 17.00 hours, with a pumpkin contest, haunted house, mask workshop, ambigú and live music. On Saturday 31 it will be San Vicente's turn, from 19.00 to 22.00 hours, with haunted houses, balloon modelling, keyring and backpack workshops, crafts and a 360-degree platform. Cabo de Gata will bring its Noche en Negro to the plaza de la Iglesia from 16.30 to 00.30 hours, with cooking workshops, DJ sessions, mask and pumpkin making, musical entertainment, theatre and a craft market.

More than thirty proposals in the centre

In the Centro and the Casco Histórico the programme exceeds thirty activities and turns more than a dozen spaces into venues. The Orquesta Ciudad de Almería (OCAL) celebrates its 25th anniversary with two performances of «Melodías bajo cuerda» from the balconies of the Casa de las Mariposas, in Puerta de Purchena, at 18.45 and 19.45 hours. In Obispo Orberá two haunted houses are set up: «El Bosque Encantado», for children, at the EMMA from 18.00 to 22.00 hours, and «Acción. La última sesión», for young and adult audiences, at the Teatro Apolo from 19.00 to 00.00 hours. In Reyes Católicos, from 17.00 to 21.00 hours, there will be face-painting, slime and gummy-worm sushi workshops, as well as storytelling and crafts.

Flavours of Almería and music

The Diputación's gourmet brand, Sabores Almería, will have six stands on the Paseo de Almería, one of them the Tienda de Sabores, with nougat, hams, sausages and other artisan products from the province. The deputy for Tourism, María José Herrada, has said that «that night Almería dresses in black, but on the Paseo there will be plenty of colour: that of the province's products». The Paseo also hosts the parades «Nott», at 18.45 hours, and «Funámbola», at 19.30, and entertainment by the Charanga Los Pijamas from 20.00 to 21.00. In Puerta de Purchena, at 20.20 hours, «Buuuh, un circo terroríficamente divertido» is performed with the collaboration of Asoal. The Plaza Juan Cassinello schedules at 20.30 the concert of «The Two of Us» with a tribute to «The Beatles», and the Plaza de la Constitución, at 22.00, a tribute to «La Oreja de Van Gogh».

Museums and cultural spaces

The municipal museums (Museo de Arte Doña Pakyta, Museo de la Guitarra, Casa del Poeta, Centro de Interpretación Patrimonial and Aljibes Árabes) will open with free entry from 17.00 to 00.00 hours. The Centro Andaluz de Fotografía hosts the dance «Mariposas de Carretera», by Ana G. Mora, within Sur Escena 2026, and on the façade of the Delegación del Gobierno, next to the Paseo de los Naranjos, there will be shadow puppets from 20.30 to 21.30 hours adapted to sign language by Asoal. The mayor, María del Mar Vázquez, and the deputy María José Herrada presented the programme. The territorial delegate for Employment, Enterprise and Self-Employment and for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Development and Public Administration, Amós García Hueso, has valued the support of both administrations to the more than 2,600 companies in the sector in the capital, in which 13,600 people work.
