Almería will host the 11th Flamenco Showcase for International Programmers, FlamencoEñe 2026, from November 24 to 26. The SGAE Foundation has selected six artists and groups from among the 53 projects that applied to the call. The chosen ones are 7xMedio, Alicia Morales, Amós Lora Cuarteto, Esperanza Garrido, José Fermín and Fernando Lázaro. Their proposals will be part of a programme designed to bring contemporary flamenco closer to those who programme music in venues and festivals around the world.

Six short concerts over three days

Over the three days, the showcase will offer six short concerts open to the public and to the invited international programmers. The aim, according to the SGAE Foundation, is to encourage the international circulation of Spanish artists and open up new opportunities for booking and collaboration with venues, festivals and other cultural agents in different countries. The event is organised with the collaboration of the Area of Culture, Education, Museums and Traditions of the Almería City Council and the Andalusian Flamenco Institute. The artistic programme will be completed with FlamencoEñe PRO, a space for meeting and working between the invited programmers, the selected artists and their representatives.

How the participants were chosen

The selection committee was made up of the composer and pianist Dorantes, the composer and singer Esperanza Fernández, the director of the Andalusian Flamenco Institute, Cristóbal Ortega, and the journalist specialising in flamenco Manuel Moraga. Arcángel, flamenco coordinator of the SGAE Foundation, took part in the meeting with a voice but no vote. Among the criteria applied, diversity and the viability of the projects took priority. The councillor for Culture, Joaquín Pérez de la Blanca, has stated that the choice of Almería means «the excellent news that makes Almería a meeting point for professionals from the world of flamenco thanks to an entity of prestige such as the SGAE Foundation».

Venues and tickets

The venues and times of each performance will be announced in the coming dates, along with the start of ticket sales.
