Forty historic cars, built before 1940, can be seen up close from this Thursday in Almería. The 36th Classic Vehicle Route starts with an exhibition at 19:00 in the Plaza Virgen del Mar, followed by the traditional Floral Offering to the Virgen del Mar. The rally is organised by the Almería Classic Vehicle Club and takes place from November 5 to 9. Participants come from all over Spain, with vehicles arriving from cities such as Vitoria, Madrid, Málaga, Pontevedra and Murcia. Among the expected makes are Ford, Franklin, Rolls-Royce, Packard and Buick, as well as a 1905 Vermorel, from a French brand of the early 20th century.

Where to see the cars each day

On Friday, November 6 there will be an exhibition on calle Navarro Rodrigo, opposite the Diputación, from 10:00 to 11:30, and at 11:00 the reception at the Diputación is scheduled. At around 12:30 the vehicles will arrive in Enix, where they will remain on display until 17:30. On Saturday, November 7 they will travel to Terque, arriving at 11:00, and will then visit Alsodux. In both municipalities there will be an exhibition of the "museum on wheels". On Sunday 8 they will be at the Poblado del Oeste de Fort Bravo, in Tabernas, and can be visited from 12:00. On Monday they will return to their place of origin. The first day can also be followed on television: Andalucía Directo has confirmed its presence and will broadcast a report on the route on Canal Sur Televisión. The president of the Almería Classic Automobile Club, José Juan Soria, has said that this year there is "a new jewel: a 1905 Vermorel that belongs to our member Pepe Moreno and can be visited at his Museo del Vehículo Histórico, in El Ejido". Visits to the vehicles displayed on public roads are free of charge, according to the programme of events provided by the organisation.
