Tomatito will perform at the 34th edition of Almerijazz on Thursday, November 5 at 20.30 hours at the Auditorio Municipal Maestro Padilla. Before the concert he will receive the Georgia Jazz Club award in memory of Serafín Cid, which each year distinguishes a musician taking part in the festival for their connection with jazz and with the city.

An award for his link with jazz

According to the Ayuntamiento de Almería, the award recognises the guitarist's international career, his relationship with improvised music and his role as an ambassador for the city. The Consistorio recalls his collaboration with the Dominican pianist Michel Camilo on the project «Spain», an encounter between flamenco and Latin jazz.

How to attend

The concert is part of the programme of the festival organised by the Área de Cultura, Educación, Museos y Tradiciones del Ayuntamiento de Almería. Tomatito will perform with his group, which includes José del Tomate on second guitar, Bernardo Parrilla on violin, Makarines, Kiki Cortiñas and Morenito de Illora on vocals and palmas, and Johny Cortés on percussion.
