The Chamber of Commerce of Almería has held the Feria FP Pyme 2026 in Mojácar, a meeting that seeks to connect companies in the Levante almeriense that need qualified personnel with the Vocational Training (FP) centres of the region and with the students training in them. The event took place at the Hotel El Parador de Mojácar with the collaboration of the Ayuntamiento de Mojácar.

Profiles that companies are looking for

During the day, the participating educational centres presented their training offer and the skills their students acquire, so that companies could directly consult which profiles are available. The specialities shown cover sectors such as administration, IT, industry, energy, automotive, transport and logistics, healthcare, hospitality, tourism, sport, emergencies and social services. Among the profiles are electricians, mechanics, welders, IT technicians, kitchen and restaurant professionals, nursing, laboratory or administration.

Meetings to learn about Dual FP

One of the main themes of the fair was explaining how the Dual FP model works, which combines training at the educational centre with learning periods at companies. To this end, 15-minute meetings were organised with specialised facilitators, in which companies could resolve doubts, learn about the procedures for hosting students on internships and contact the centres that teach the specialities most suited to their activity. As a prior activity, on October 21 an online information session was held in which the offer of training cycles of the participating centres was presented, so that companies would arrive at the fair with prior knowledge of the available specialities.

Open to ESO and Bachillerato students

The fair has also opened its doors to 4th year ESO and Bachillerato students from the area, who have been able to learn about the Vocational Training options existing in their environment and their possibilities for professional development and access to employment. The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Almería, Jerónimo Parra, has stated that «one of the problems that companies tell us about is the difficulty of finding certain professional profiles», and added that Dual FP allows SMEs «to participate directly in the training of their future professionals». The deputy for Entrepreneurship and European Initiatives, Esther Álvarez, has indicated that this space serves as a «direct bridge» between the talent of the students and the needs of the business fabric. The mayor of Mojácar, Francisco García Cerdá, has stated that Dual FP is «a key tool to boost talent» and favour the labour insertion of young people. The fair has had funding from the European Union, the Ministerio de Trabajo y Economía Social and Cajamar, and the collaboration of the Ayuntamiento de Mojácar.
