The emergency plan for flood risk is deactivated after DANA Adam left 696 incidents in Andalusia, 180 in Almería, the most affected province. Road closures persist on two roads in Córdoba.
The Junta de Andalucía has deactivated the Emergency Plan for Flood Risk. It did so following the favourable evolution of Storm DANA Adam and the end of adverse weather warnings in the eight Andalusian provinces, according to the first vice-president and councillor for the Presidency, Health and Emergencies, Antonio Sanz.
Almería, the most affected province
The 112 Andalucía service has coordinated 696 rain- and wind-related incidents since last Saturday. Almería accounts for 180, followed by Cádiz, with 156, and Málaga, with 154. Together the three total 490, more than 70% of the total. After them come Sevilla (84), Granada (62), Córdoba (43), Jaén (12) and Huelva (five).
By type, most have been natural hazards: 451, mainly flooding and waterlogging. There have also been 74 disruptions to basic services, 46 rescues and saves, 43 traffic incidents, 34 collapses or falling objects, 13 road accidents, two medical assistances and another 33 of a different nature.
Two roads remain closed in Córdoba
The Andalusian road network is gradually returning to normal. Only two roads in Córdoba remain affected, with three sections closed:
—The CO-4103, between kilometres 0 and 13, between Bujalance and Villa del Río.
—The CO-4207, between kilometres 0 and 9.1, between Montilla and Montalbán de Córdoba, including the La Zarza bridge.
In Sevilla, the SE-6300 has reopened as it passes through Lebrija, which remained closed this Monday between kilometres 0 and 6.
Less rain overnight
The highest overnight accumulations were recorded in Vejer de la Frontera (Cádiz), with 7.4 litres per square metre, followed by Villarrodrigo (Jaén), with 2.6; Villanueva del Arzobispo (Jaén), with 1.6, and Córdoba-Prágdena, with 1.2.
Sanz explained that the last evening and night passed calmly, with barely a score of incidents and none during the early hours. He thanked the public for their collaboration and for following the self-protection recommendations, spread via social media and through two ES-Alert messages sent in the province of Almería. «Following the self-protection guidelines saves lives,» he stated.
What to do now
Although the plan is deactivated, the Agencia de Emergencias de Andalucía asks for caution in affected areas and to respect the signage on closed roads.
